Viewers of Britain's Got Talent were left scratching their heads when Simon Cowell was on the receiving end of the Golden Buzzer in an unprecedented moment.

The episode, which aired on Saturday (12th April), saw the return of the music mogul to our screens with fellow judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli as they watched a new batch of contestants showcase their skills.

Ant and Dec were on standby as usual, ready to support the performers as they took to the stage.

But it was one particular act that took everyone by surprise, including Simon himself, when he was invited on stage by a mysterious performer known as The Hacker.

The enigmatic figure, whose face was concealed by a mask, pulled off a surprising stunt by swapping places with Simon, taking over the judge's seat and casually putting his feet up on the desk.

Simon, now on stage and visibly bewildered, soon realised he was part of the act, tasked with performing a magic trick rather than sitting in judgement.

The performance featured a digital version of Simon as the star of the show, projected onto a screen behind the stage. In a twist, The Hacker didn't allow the judges to cast their votes, reports the Express.

However, when it came time for The Hacker to make a decision, he hit the Golden Buzzer instead, showering the stage and Simon with golden confetti.

Viewers were quick to take to social media, expressing their reaction over the moment, as the show's Golden Buzzer is known for sending acts directly to the live shows. A perplexed fan posted on X, previously known as Twitter: "WTF is this audition? #BGT."
