ITV Britain's Got Talent viewers had the same complaint during the live semi-final on Saturday night. With the hit show now in its eighteenth season, May 10 marked the third round of semi-finals, which aired live on screens at 7pm.

However, viewers were quick to comment on the noise levels of the live audience, who at times were so loud, they could "barely hear" what was going on.Taking to social media platform X, one disgruntled viewer Claire said: "Audience shut up. My ears can't handle you screaming! Hearing aids muted! #BGT."

Another user said: "Dear Audience. Pipe down please. Many thanks. Everyone."

Elizabeth wrote: "The screeching audience do nothing to help this show. Have to keep muting the TV."

Presented by Ant & Dec, the eighteenth season has judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli. At the start of Saturday's semi-final, Bruno was given the Golden Buzzer, allowing him to send one act straight to the final.

there was no audience during the pandemic. They want every single act to be the golden buzzer and I can barely hear the judges comments over them screaming and shouting."

This viewer added: "This #goldenbuzzer thing in the semi finals is very annoying… After every act can’t hear the judges because the audience is yelling when it wasn’t a good act… "

Nicola commented: "The audience are driving me insane..... shut up!!!!!!!!"

Half way through the show, the golden buzzer was pushed for drag queen and opera singer Jasmine Rice. The singer wowed the judges with a rendition of Never Enough.

Fans praised the singer's efforts, with one X user commenting: "What an amazing voice Jasmine Rice has, one of my favourite songs from the greatest showman."

However, Laura said: "What’s the point in giving a judge a golden buzzer, as each week they just let the audience pressure them into choosing who they want to see in the final.. #BGT"Britain's Got Talent will return on Saturday May 17, for the fourth round of semi-finals.
