Lagi Demetriou, known for his delightful performance as the youthful half of Stavros Flatley on Britain's Got Talent, looks remarkably different 16 years since he and his father charmed the nation in the show's final.
At just 12 years old, Lagi became an overnight sensation in 2009 with a unique act that saw him and his father, Demetrios – affectionately called Demi – perform a light-hearted tribute to Michael Flatley's Riverdance.
Fast forward to today, the once pint-sized performer is now 27, enjoys fatherhood with two children, and is successfully running his own barbershop in Cyprus.
On New Year's Eve 2020, Lagi got down on one knee to propose to his partner Annika; the couple made their union official two years later.
Lagi and Annika welcomed their first child, a daughter named Xenia, in March 2022, followed by the birth of another daughter in the subsequent year, whom they chose to name Demetria Demetriou – a heartfelt reference to Lagi's dad.
Injecting a dose of nostalgia into his followers' lives, Lagi recently took to TikTok to recreate the iconic Stavros Flatley dance, stirring joy and laughter among fans.
Donning his dancing shoes for St Patrick’s Day, he delivered an entertaining Irish jig that had his family, and indeed social media users, in stitches.
The clip was met with a wave of affection from fans, with heartfelt comments flooding in: "Stavros Flatley! This brings back great memories!" said one, while another exclaimed: "This has cracked me up!" In addition, a particularly moved user commented: “I needed this big smile this morning

In 2019, the pair made a nostalgic comeback on Britain's Got Talent: The Champions, only to step back from the limelight shortly after.
Nowadays, Lagi runs a barber shop in Paphos, Cyprus, while Demi has brought Stavros Flatley back to life with his nephew Samson stepping into Lagi's dancing shoes.
During a chat with MailOnline in 2019, Lagi revealed that Simon Cowell had advised him not to completely hang up his dancing shoes.
The entertainment tycoon recommended keeping the act for special events. Reflecting on his decision, Lagi said: "When we got to The Champions, I thought this was the right time to leave. But Simon Cowell told me not to quit forever. So I will return for some shows."
