Vancouver Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford was blunt when talking about the feud between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson.

He essentially confirmed that the only solution is to trade one or both of these talented forwards.

“I felt like for a long time that there was a solution here because everybody has worked on it, including the parties involved... But it only gets resolved for a short period of time and then it festers again and so it certainly appears like there’s not a good solution that would keep this group together,” Rutherford said.

When asked about Rutherford’s comments, Miller did not confirm or deny his tension with Pettersson.

"I don't have one," Miller said about whether he had an opinion about Rutherford’s statements.

The fact that Miller did not want to outright set the record straight about his feud with Pettersson shows that he is getting tired of this whole saga and that there is some truth to all of these reports.

The New York Rangers have been linked to Miller and even reportedly were progressing in trade talks with the Canucks before a deal for the veteran forward fell through.

“I would look, of course at New York,” TSN’s Darren Dreger said. “I mean, JT Miller speculation, linked to the New York Rangers, who are obviously playing better; that's not going to go away anytime soon.”

There is a strong possibility the Canucks will trade Miller before the Mar. 7 NHL Trade Deadline given all the recent statements coming from within the organization.
