Ja'Marr Chase Delivers Strong 6-Word Message Amid Bengals Contract Situation

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is heading into the final year of his rookie contract after notching a stellar Triple-Crown receiving season in 2024.

Through 17 regular-season games this past season, Chase led the NFL in catches (127), receiving yards (1,708) and receiving touchdowns (17). Now, the four-time Pro Bowler is looking to get paid.

Chase is currently set to earn $21.8 million in 2025. But as he now engages in longterm contract extension talks with the Bengals, the former No. 5 draft pick is projected to make somewhere around $40 million per year on his next deal.

The Bengals view Chase as a priority this offseason and could make the 25-year-old wide receiver the highest-paid, non-quarterback in NFL history.

Chase celebrated his 25th birthday on March 1. On Monday, the superstar WR shared an Instagram post commemorating his big day.

Among the slideshow of birthday photos is a message that reads "Know Your Worth Then Add Tax."

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport shared an update on Chase's contract negotiations on Monday.

“I think he probably does [get at least $40 million per year], and I don’t get the sense that the Bengals are that far from it now,” Rapoport said on The Pat McAfee Show.

“The Bengals would like it done immediately, and they’ve offered really close to [$40 million]," Rapoport continued. "But if you’re Ja’Marr Chase, it sounds to me like he’s like, ‘I got time. There’s no rush.’”

As far as Chase is concerned, he's just looking for "what's fair" in negotiations with the Bengals.

"At the end of the day, I just hope I get what's fair," Chase said in February. "... Hopefully I don't put too much pressure on anybody, but I just want it to be fair, that's all."
