There is a new behind-the-scenes NHL docuseries set to come out on Hulu that will include New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba.
This series will follow specific players on and off the ice through the entirety of the season as they go about their daily business of being a professional hockey athlete.
Some of the other players aside from Trouba that will be in the series are Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, David Pastrnak, Jeremy Swayman, Quinn Hughes, Matthew Tkachuk, Jack Eichel, William Nylander, among others.
“This is so meaningful for our league. Box To Box has revolutionized modern storytelling for Formula 1, golf and tennis,” said NHL chief content officer & senior executive vice president Steve Mayer in a statement released Thursday. “With the full support of the League, players, coaches and owners, we welcome the opportunity to showcase our stars and the greatest season and postseason in sports – the Stanley Cup Playoffs – to a global audience.”
A docuseries of this magnitude could really help boost the recognition of the NHL and help people better learn the game of hockey.
“We want to stay true to the world of ice hockey with the series. The sport is as beautiful, skillful and graceful, as it is brutal, pressurized and powerful; and we aim to balance the energetic and fast-paced action leading up to the Stanley Cup Final, with the quiet and raw drama taking place off the ice,” Paul Martin, Box To Box Films co-founder and executive producer, said.
In 69 games this year, Trouba had three goals, 19 assists and 22 points. The 30-year-old defenseman also won the Mark Messier Leadership Award, a high honor that recognizes an individual as a superior leader within their sport, and as a contributing member of society.
