Teen Mom exes Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin reunited on Kailyn’s podcast to give fans a major update about their co-parenting routine.
Javi announced that he will now be stationed in Virginia and will have to leave Delaware for the summer. The two are currently co-parenting their son Lincoln.
Kailyn Lowry shocked fans when she revealed that her ex, Javi Marroquin, would be a guest on her latest episode of the Barely Famous podcast.
Leading up to the episode, the ex-couple teased an announcement to come on the podcast.
Kail and Javi dropped a major update about their co-parenting dynamic for their shared son Lincoln.
Javi is a recruiter in the United States Air Force Reserve which is now forcing him to be stationed in Virginia for the summer.
Javi and Kail currently reside in Delaware to co-parent their son. Evidently Javi had a few options but ultimately decided that Virginia was “probably the best case scenario.”
“It was, ‘Hey, take Virginia, or when your time does come up [to relocate], when your 3-year mark hits, you’re gonna get whatever’s on the table,’” he said on the podcast.
During the podcast, Javi and Kail got candid about their rocky relationship which has been getting a bit stronger over the past few months.
“Was this decision influenced at all by creating more distance between you and me, or Elijah and myself and you and Lauren?” Kail asked her ex.
“No, this is strictly professional,” he admitted. “I mean, the military has done so many good things for all of us. It pays for Lincoln’s health insurance, it will pay for some of his school when he gets there … I’ve been in for 12 years, I’ve worked too hard to get to where I’m at as far as rank and all of that for where I’m sitting at the table, and I’m really good at it.”
The former couple gave an update about how this move will affect Lincoln.
They revealed that their son will continue the school year in Delaware, and then move to Virginia with Javi for the summer.
When it comes closer to Javi’s move, the reality stars will re-visit the conversation with their son. They admitted that the ultimate decision will be “whatever Lincoln says.”
Javi took this news to Instagram to share a statement with followers.
“If you're reading this, my guess is you've listened to the podcast episode,” he started out the statement.
“I was able to hide these emotions because no one knew and it almost didn't feel real.. I knew it wasn't something we could hide forever so I thought going on the pod was the best way for both parties to communicate and explain why we came to the decisions we did,” Javi continued.
The 32-year-old admitted that he “had a lot more to say” but could not seem to line up his thoughts during the podcast.
“Tears roll down my face knowing how real it feels now,” Javi confessed.
“There's no winning,” he said. “I don't win.”
Javi assured followers that everything is going to work out despite the unfortunate circumstance.
“One thing I know for sure... Lincoln will never have to question who I am as a dad and the only thing between us now are the miles we have to drive to see each other. Everything's going to be ok,” he concluded.
