Jax Taylor, reality TV personality known for his time on “Vanderpump Rules” and “The Valley,” has been candid about his mental health struggles in recent months. However, one detail he has kept private is the location of the inpatient facility where he completed a 30-day inpatient program during the summer of 2024.
Jax Taylor’s Rehab Location Remains Undisclosed
Taylor entered treatment following a highly publicized split from his wife, Brittany Cartwright, and what he called “the worst year of my life” on a recent episode of “The Valley After Show.”
In the episode, Taylor also opened up about the breakdown of his marriage, his addiction to cocaine and alcohol, and his battle with anger issues. “I just didn’t see it. Instead of dealing with it in a mature way, I just went rogue. I just went to war. I tell you what, the drugs didn’t help,” he said during the show.
Despite fans’ curiosity, Taylor and his representatives have not disclosed the name or location of the rehab facility where he received treatment. In a statement to E! News, his rep said, “This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”
A Turning Point
According to People, Taylor completed his stay in August 2024 and returned home to his son. His rep shared, “Jax has spent the last 30 days in treatment and will be heading back home later this week. It’s been an emotional month for him and he’s most looking forward to spending time with his son.”
Shortly after leaving treatment, Taylor revealed he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. “After many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD,” he wrote on Instagram in September 2024. “It’s been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however I’ve come home to my son with a new found sense of peace.”
He also admitted to struggling with substance abuse for decades, particularly with cocaine. On a March 2025 episode of Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast, he said, “I am an addict. I have substance issues — primarily with cocaine. It’s hard to say out loud. I’ve been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I’m 45.”
Friends and family played a major role in encouraging Taylor to seek treatment. During “The Valley After Show,” several castmates recounted the intervention-like efforts that finally persuaded him to get help. His estranged wife Brittany was especially vocal, citing their child as a key reason she pushed for change.
“The main reason is because of our beautiful, innocent son,” she said. “He deserves to have a mother and a father who are both happy and both doing good.”
Although the location of the facility remains a mystery, Taylor has made it clear that the experience was transformative. “It saved my life. I’m probably still here right now because of Brittany and everybody saying, ‘Listen, you need to go,’” he said.
As Taylor continues working on his sobriety and mental health, his decision to keep the rehab location private appears to be an act of boundary-setting in the often-exposed world of reality TV.
