JAX'S STUDI-OH NO! Jax Taylor’s Studio City restaurant investigated for ‘changing diapers on bar’ and other complaints in health inspection

JAX Taylor's restaurant has been investigated by the health department after numerous customer complaints, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.

Jax, 44, opened his new Los Angeles sports bar Jax's Studio City, in October, along with help from his now-estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, 35.

Since then, there have been multiple complaints made by customers to the Department of Public Health.

According to documents obtained exclusively by The U.S. Sun, the most recent complaint was made in April 2024.

The complainant alleged that "Jax Taylor, owner of Jax's Studio City," was "changing baby diapers on top of a bar where food and drinks are served."

This launched an investigation, which was conducted on April 16.

Once complete, the inspector wrote, "The complaint was not observed. No one in the facility was changing diapers in the bar at the time of the inspection.

"Discussed with owner that employees and customers are not allowed to change baby diapers in the bar counter or on tables.

"It is the owner's responsibility to enforce this. Owner demonstrated understanding."

The complaint has since been closed and no further action was taken.

A video of Jax and Brittany changing their three-year-old son Cruz's diaper at the bar - just days prior to the investigation - was shared on social media by The Valley star Jasmine Goode.

Although she appeared to share the video in an innocent way and captioned it, "Adulting," fans slammed Brittany and Jax for what they thought was unsanitary behavior.

One fan wrote, "Apparently, according to the Valley crew, 'adulting' is changing your kid's diaper in the middle of a restaurant while you scream at each other."

Another user remarked, "I need someone to tell me these two 'parents' are not changing a 3-year-old’s dirty diaper on the surface of a bar, in a restaurant that serves food, in full view of the public/paying customers. It cannot be."

BEER CHEESE DRAMA

Prior to the changing diapers complaint, there was also a complaint made about the former couple's homemade beer cheese.

Mamaw's Beer Cheese - made popular on Vanderpump Rules - is part of the menu as it is served with a warm pretzel.

Another investigation was conducted on December 2, 2023, after a complaint was sent to the Department of Public Health.

The complainant alleged that the beer cheese was "made off premises," but sold at the restaurant and that the "kitchen doesn't even have recipe for allergies."

During the investigation, the health inspector observed there was "one container of beer cheese stored in the walk-in cooler" and an "invoice was provided for the cheese spread."

The public official noted, "At the time of the investigation, the manager stated the beer cheese is made on site.

"The manager did not have a recipe card for the beer cheese but informed Environmental Health Specialist beer cheese is made with sharp cheddar cheese spread that is purchased through Amazon or Angie's Wholesale."

"Per the manager, the chef is responsible for making the beer cheese and prepares the beer cheese by adding dry spice mix and beer to the cheese spread," the inspector continued.

The complaint was then closed, although the inspector did not get to speak to the chef since he was not on site at the time.

INSPECTION RESULTS

Jax's Studio City, who shares the same kitchen with Rocco's Tavern that's directly next door, had a complete inspection on April 16, 2024, the date the inspector looked into the changing of diapers issue.

The critical violation the restaurants (both Jax's and Rocco's) received was "compliance with shelf stock tags, condition, displayed," meaning the containers storing shellfish were not properly maintained.

The inspection report ordered the owners to "maintain shellfish certification tags with the original container until empty, and then maintain tags in chronological order on the premises for a period of not less than 90 days from the date of harvest."

Training was provided after the public official noticed the restaurant was "discarding tags for mussels after each batch and not maintaining them in the premises for 90 days."

The re-inspection took place on May 1, 2024, and an inspector found that the violations were corrected.

The overall grade was an "A" after scoring 94 out of 100 points, which is the highest grade that a restaurant can receive.

According to the guidelines, Jax's Studio City/Rocco's Tavern is "generally superior in food handling practices and overall food facility maintenance."

After earning a high score, Tom Schwartz announced The California Bar Crawl in partnership with his pal Jax and Jax's Studio City.

The upcoming crawl is expected to launch next month and will also include Schwartz and Tom Sandoval's restaurants Schwartz & Sandy's and TomTom as well as Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant, Sur.

JAX MOVES ON

Although Jax and Brittany were seen together at Jax's Studio City in early April, a lot has changed in two months.

Brittany and Jax are still living separately following their decision to split, and it appears Jax has already moved on and is dating someone new.

In a video that has also made its rounds on social media, Jax's new rumored girlfriend, Paige Woolen, was seen making a mock pregnancy announcement while attending Jeremy Madix's birthday celebration at Jax's Studio City.

Two days prior, in photos obtained by The U.S. Sun, the reality star and the 32-year-old OnlyFans model were spotted out on a three-hour lunch date at a cafe in Los Angeles.

Paige was seen picking Jax up from the home he once shared with Brittany in a limousine.

After the outing, Paige dropped Jax off at Jax's Studio City, and the pair went their separate ways.

Brittany has yet to speak out about her ex's new rumored girlfriend.

However, she did hint that there were more issues between her and her ex "behind closed doors" that fans aren't aware about and also warned people, via her Instagram story, to leave her son's name out of the drama- but people can "talk about his father" all they want.

The U.S. Sun reached out to Jax and Brittany's rep for comment.
