Jelly Roll’s Weight Loss Journey

In addition to the significant strides in his music career, Jelly Roll is publicly sharing the wins in his weight-loss journey.

The 40-year-old reached 540 lbs when he realized he needed to make a change. As he began to share of his weight loss with his fans and followers, he said:

“I wanna have one of the biggest transformations. I did this publicly for a reason. I wanna be honest about my struggles with it with people.

After losing 70 lbs, Jelly Roll accomplished his goal of completing his first 5k race in May 2024. After that, the singer’s drive only grew. One year later, he returned to run the same race and confirmed that he had lost an astounding 200 lbs!

With his weight loss, Jelly Roll is experiencing increased energy, mobility, and stamina. Most recently, he stepped into the WWE ring for the first time and faced off against Logan Paul in an explosive smackdown.

Next, the Tennessee native will return for the WWE SummerSlam on August 2nd-3rd.

A Goal 30 Years In The Making

During a new conversation with Stephanie McMahon for her WWE-sponsored podcast, What’s Your Story, Jelly Roll revealed that he began gaining weight at a very young age and came out of middle school weighing over 300 lbs.

The “Save Me” singer then dropped an exclusive update that he has not previously shared. He is on track to weigh under 300 lbs for the first time in 30 years. He confidently stated:

“I am going to be under 300 lbs for the first time since middle school, the night I walk to that ring at Summerslam.”

Jelly Roll shared that although he only weighs in once a month, he is “doing the work” and is confident he will reach this next milestone.

The rapper-turned-country singer has previously shared that one of his larger health goals is to be on the cover of Men’s Health magazine in March 2026. Now, he is ready to publicly announce another goal.

This will make my publicist hate me,” jokes Jelly Roll, before he makes this bold statement:

“I want to do a shirt-off cover in ’27.”

He admits that he is “a long way from that” and adds that he will need to get his “skin cut” because it interferes with his daily functions. The musician is referring to surgical skin reduction, which is common for individuals who have lost a significant amount of weight and are left with excess or sagging skin.
