Jessi Ngatikaura revealed where she stands with husband Jordan Ngatikaura, and addressed Scheana Shay’s involvement in the drama surrounding Jessi’s alleged affair with Marciano Brunette. She also teased the reunion, and called out Demi Engemann’s “convenient” excuse for not showing up.
On the season finale of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Marciano himself claimed that he and Jessi had an affair. Later on, Scheana claimed on her podcast that Jessi and Marciano were all over each other at a restaurant. She also implied that they were in the same hotel together.
Speaking with Us Weekly, Jessi was asked if reality TV has tested her marriage.
“Yeah,” she said. “When you’re on Reality TV, it puts a microscope on it, and everyone sees everything and has opinions, and it’s hard not to have it affect your friendships, your relationships, your family life.”
When asked if she and Jessi are in a better place, she answered, “Yeah, we’re back — working on things, you know, every day is different. Marriage is hard, we still have ups and downs, and you guys will see a lot of that unfold in Season 3. But I do think that, overall, it’s going to be inspiring to people.”
Later on, Jessi was asked if she was surprised by Scheana’s involvement in the drama with Marciano.
“I was really close with her, so I was really shocked to see that. Luckily, she did give me a heads-up, though; she told me the podcast was coming out,” said Jessi. “But after it came out, I did send her a 10-minute voice memo going over my side of things, because she had never really heard my side. After that, she was like, ‘Oh, this makes a lot of sense.’ Like, she had a lot of the facts wrong, and there were things she didn’t know, so I set the record straight and we’re good now.”

Did she know Marciano was going to make the affair allegations?
“We were already filming the next set of episodes, and we were dealing with it in real time, so I knew about it,” she said. “But seeing it was so much harder than just hearing about it, because I had to see the way he said things and what he did say, and it’s clearly not the full story. So I’m excited for the next set of episodes, where I can tell more about what actually happened.”
“His videos are so cringey — I’m like, hey, way to make it look like you’re just clout chasing. You had a little credibility in the beginning, but now I think no one believes him,” she said. “He’s making himself look worse, I think. I haven’t spoken to him recently, but you guys will see in the next season a lot of stuff comes out about that.”
Jessi said the reunion was “really fun” to film.
“I had never done one before; it was a long day, so we were all exhausted at the end,” she said. “But I would say Demi takes a lot of heat, even though she’s not there — we talk about her a lot— so that kind of sucks for her. But I think Whitney got some heat as well, just kind of clearing up all the drama from Season 1 and seeing where we’re at with her. I feel like everyone had their chance in the hot seat.”
But Jessi felt that costars reached a resolution.
She also shaded Demi’s excuse that she couldn’t attend because she was at Disneyland.
“We definitely got more than a few days’ notice — I think it was a few weeks … I believe it because I know she was in Disney, but I do think it was convenient,” she said.As for their own relationship, Jessi hinted they could reconcile if Demi apologizes.
“[If so,] I could see us being civil, cordial — we’re co-workers, we’re going to have to work together — I can totally be her friend for that,” she said. “But I will never be her best friend.”
