Jetѕ Tаrget Mіke Vrаbel Move Goіng Offіcіаl Amіd Aаron Glenn Rumor

The New York Jets need a new head coach who can not only command the locker room but also be the true face of the organization for years to come.

But the New England Patriots need the same thing.

Former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel and the Jets were a "thing'' ... but Vrabel's move to New England, where he won three Super Bowls as a player, is now going official.

The Patriots are in an awful place following the one-year reign of Jerod Mayo, and really, they were in a bad place before that when the iconic Bill Belichick era was grinding down to a sad end.

But the Jets are in an awful place as well, two sad-sack organizations in the AFC East basement trying to fix the roster, the record and the culture.

Belichick got time - a quarter of a century. Mayo did not.

The Jets?

New York gave former general manager Joe Douglas six seasons to solve their lack of regular-season success. They gave former head coach Robert Saleh into his fourth year for the same.

The team's patience hasn't been rewarded just yet so far, but it could entice one of the biggest coaching names in this cycle recent years to join them.

But it won't be Vrabel. As he "goes home,'' though, it leads to a sensible rumor that would have the Jets making a similar move. Next candidate up?

Aaron Glenn.
