The New York Jets reset the front office and coaching staff this offseason, which collaborated on the post-Aaron Rodgers era at quarterback.
New York's first move in that regard was to sign former Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears starter Justin Fields to a two-year, $40 million contract in free agency.
However, the Jets still hold the No. 7 overall pick in the first round of next week's NFL draft and could look to add a quarterback there. If not, there are also trade paths New York could pursue to put another competent signal caller into the QB room as insurance against injuries and/or struggles involving Fields.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report on Friday, April 18, authored a trade proposal in which the Jets send running back Breece Hall to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for former second-round QB Will Levis and a fourth-round pick in this year's draft.
"Hall has been an above-average starter in New York when healthy. However, he's entering a contract year and could potentially be pushed out by an incoming rookie like Boise State's Ashton Jeanty," Knox wrote. "Tennessee already features a solid backfield tandem in Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. However, adding Hall to the rotation could give the Titans a dominant rushing attack with which to support [Cam] Ward early in his career."
Tennessee is predicted to draft Miami's Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick on Thursday, April 24, which will likely send Levis to the trade block. Levis has struggled throughout his first two seasons, though he has produced nearly 3,900 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions across 21 starts in the league.
Levis will play next season at 26 years old and has two seasons remaining on an affordable four-year rookie contract worth just $9.5 million in total.
