A popular candidate amongst fans has interviewed for the New York Jets’ vacant post as head coach.
Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has spoken with the Jets about the job. Glenn is a popular selection because of his connection to the Jets as a former player for the team.
His interview was announced this week:
Glenn, 52, has spent 11 years as a coach in the NFL including his past four in Detroit as DC.
Glenn also spent time as an assistant with the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns. In 2024, the Lions defense allowed only 20.1 points per game, despite a slew of injuries, which was the seventh-best total in the NFL.
As a player, Glenn was New York’s first-round pick in 1994. The defensive back was with the team until 2001. Prior to joining the NFL’s coaching ranks, Glenn spent two seasons (2012-13) in the Jets’ front office as pro personnel scout and area scout.
Jets Wire will provide interview updates as information is made available.
