Jets' Breece Hall Announces Cryptic Reaction To Red-Hot Rumors

New York Jets running back Breece Hall is facing a defining 2025 season as he plays on the final year of his rookie deal.

For Hall, who in two of his three seasons has been the very definition of a one-man show out of the backfield with over 200 rushing attempts and 800 yards, along with at least 50 receptions and 480 yards, he does it all.

Given that he is in the last year of his deal, as long as he keeps that production, a new deal is a certainty, right? Well, for new head coach Aaron Glenn, no.

He stated at the annual league meeting that he plans to use Hall, along with Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis as a rotational trio in 2025. That isn't ideal for Hall.

And ESPN's Rich Cimini has detailed the problem with that for Breece.

"Except for a brief period at the start of his rookie season in 2022, Breece Hall has been the No. 1 running back on the team -- a high-volume runner and pass catcher," Cimini writes. "First-year coach Aaron Glenn has other plans. It sounds like Glenn wants to employ a committee approach, utilizing second-year backs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis to complement Hall.

"We'll see. No skill player likes to lose touches, especially in a contract year. Hall will be a free agent in 2026 and the open market often isn't friendly for running backs. Production matters."

What's Hall's response to all of this red-hot rumor stuff? It's cryptic. It's a monkey. Smoking a cig. While reading Twitter, we presume.

It will be tough for Hall to produce at his usual level if Allen and Davis take touches away from him. Plus, there have been rumors of the Jets drafting a younger back and trading Hall away.

Right now, Breece has it all to do to prove to Glenn and the Jets coaching staff that he is "the" guy, and the best way to do that is through your production on the field; unfortunately for Hall, two other players will be getting their chances too.

It is delicately poised for Hall right now as this offseason looms as a defining one for him and his future in the Big Apple.
