The New York Jets have not heard from pass rusher Jermaine Johnson for most of the 2024 season, but there is an update… from the man himself.
Early in his third season, Johnson went down with a season-ending Achilles injury during New York’s Week 2 contest against the Tennessee Titans. The 25-year-old was carted off the field and the extent of his injury was later revealed.
Johnson has been quiet since then, as expected. Speaking with Sportsnet New York, he has given a positive update on how he’s currently feeling.
“Amazing,” Johnson began.
Johnson went on to credit his teammates as motivating factors in his recovery. He’s still got a long way to go, but any positive vibe from a potential young star is welcomed news.
Johnson only had four tackles in less than two games played this year, however, he did record 7.5 sacks in 2023 after only 2.5 as a rookie.
