Jets' Justin Fields Gets Scouting Report From Newest Draftee

The New York Jets nailed their 2025 colors to Justin Fields' mast, and while there were some detractors to the move, it is clearly a bridge option until the team finds its long-term answer.

A two-year, $40 million deal sees Fields take charge of the offense in the post-Aaron Rodgers era under Aaron Glenn, with the coaching staff happy that Justin will be leading the team into battle.

And newly drafted tight end Mason Taylor sees Fields for what he could be, not what he's thought to be.

"He's been awesome to see on TV," Taylor said. "So getting to play with him and I just seen his contract, they don't pay they don't pay bad players that type of money, so he's a really good quarterback and I can't wait to go work with him and work with the guys in New York it's going to be awesome."

Change is as good as a holiday, and Fields comes to New York with a two-year commitment to see what he can do with Tanner Engstrand's offense.

He won't have anyone looking over his shoulder; this is his team, for 2025 at least.

Taylor, who was drafted in the second round, will ride shotgun for Justin, along with Garrett Wilson, as Fields' weapons.

Wanting to be the "ultimate tight end" for his quarterback, Taylor stated he wants to be the guy that does it all, on the field as well as off it, and is determined to be a security blanket for Fields.

Justin has been given his fair share of criticism, but Taylor is here to make sure that on his watch, that stops in 2025.
