Jets No. 1 Question Aimed Perfectly At Coach Aaron Glenn

The New York Jets have had a solid enough offseason, but there is still one question hanging over the franchise.

One of the first ports of call for New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey was to clear the sideshow makers from the franchise.

They did that with Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams were moved on. Tick.

They then added some solid pieces in free agency, including Justin Fields and Brandon Stephens, and they added more in the draft, with Armand Membou and Mason Taylor selected in the first two rounds.

One could say that the Jets have done everything the right way this offseason in preparation for 2025, but if we are being honest, the biggest problem for the Jets over the years hasn't necessarily been the players; it's been the culture.

And for CBS Sports, despite all the good Glenn has done this offseason, the biggest question hanging over the franchise is whether the new head coach shift the losing culture.

"Can Aaron Glenn stabilize the culture? Justin Fields is a smart low-risk, high-upside flyer at quarterback,"CBS Sports writes. Armand Membou is a commendable bet at tackle. The defense still has some hitters. Still, the problem in New York has often been togetherness. Glenn was well regarded with the Detroit Lions, but he might need to work overtime to avoid sideshows in East Rutherford."

Avoiding sideshows is perhaps the best way to put it.

So often the attention was on matters not related to football, and it is clear by how the Jets, at Glenn's discretion, have moved in silence this offseason, that times are changing in the Big Apple.

Granted, a single down hasn't been played in the 2025 season yet, but these are good first steps in getting the franchise out of the NFL doldrums and into relevancy.

Given all the mess this new Jets regime has to clean up, it won't be a quick process, but once they do, Glenn and his coaching staff can begin the real work.

So, for all the positives Glenn and the front office have done this offseason, many are still waiting to see if the AFC East franchise will undergo a much-needed culture shift.

Because for some, until that happens, history is destined to repeat itself.

And we think Glenn is determined to make sure it doesn't.
