The 2011 New Orleans Saints have an argument for the best team in franchise history despite not winning a Super Bowl. Drew Brees set the record for most passing yards in a season, and a good chunk of those yards went to Jimmy Graham.
It was Graham's second year in the league and his breakout season. His 99 catches and 1310 receiving yards are still career highs for the tight end, and his 11 touchdowns are second only to his 16 scores in 2013.
When given the chance in the playoffs, Graham continued to announce his arrival. His best career playoff game came against the San Francisco 49ers. His second touchdown of the day was a 66-yard catch and run and our play of the day as we continue our countdown to kickoff.
Both of Graham's touchdown came with legendary linebacker Patrick Willis in coverage. Graham caught the ball over Willis, then bounced off another 49ers defender. From there, he had to stiff arm another 49er as he ran into the end zone.
You couldn't tell Saints fans Graham's touchdown wasn't the game winner. The Saints had completed the comeback and were going to topple the top seed in the conference.
Spoiler alert: the Saints went on to lose this game in dramatic fashion. That seems to be par for the course when it comes to Saints exits from the playoffs. Unfortunately for Graham, San Francisco had a pretty good tight end on their side too.
Vernon Davis finished with seven catches, 180 yards, two touchdowns and the game winning score. 61 of Davis' yards came on the final drive. His long catch and run put the 49ers in Saints territory. Then he capped it off with a touchdown between Scott Shanle and Roman Harper.
The closing minutes of the divisional round matchup ended with four touchdowns in the last four minutes. None of the final three drives took more than a minute and a half.
