Here's what Jimmy Vesey had to say about his comeback from his lower-body injury.
Jimmy Vesey was placed on long-term injured reserve to start the season with a lower-body injury, but made his return to the New York Rangers’ lineup on Sunday afternoon.
While he just missed 10 games, Vesey’s road to recovery wasn’t easy and he was grateful for the people involved with him being able to make a speedy comeback.
“I would like to give a shoutout to our medical and strength and conditioning staff,” Vesey said. “They did a great job.”
It’s unclear what exact injury he suffered. During training camp, Vesey went down and was laboring in pain on the ice as he quickly limped his way back into the locker room.
Now, Vesey is playing on the fourth line alongside Sam Carrick and Adam Edström where he made an immediate impact.
Last season, Vesey recorded 13 goals, 13 assists and 26 points in 80 games while averaging 12:23 minutes pergame.
