Making moves…

Bachelor Nation saw Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple fall in love and get engaged on the very first season of “The Golden Bachelorette.”

During their last week in Tahiti, we saw Chock give Joan a key to symbolize his commitment to her and wanting to find a place together in New York City.

It has always been one of Joan’s dreams to live in NYC, and they previously shared that they’ve started looking at properties.

Now, the Golden couple has stopped by “Bachelor Happy Hour” to give an update on their apartment search and teased there will be a big announcement.

Podcast hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt asked Joan and Chock if there are any new updates on moving to NYC, and Chock shared more will be revealed this fall.

He said, “Stay tuned August/September, we’ll make an announcement. I’m a little frugal, I’m not going to deny that. But we’ve been traveling so much, we just wanted to put it on hold to make sure that when we do get the place, we’re gonna be able to use it. But August/September, we’ll make an announcement.”

Chock also revealed the areas they’re looking at in the city and how he and Joan are in disagreement over what kind of apartment they want.

“Joan wants five bedrooms, a view of Central Park, and a doorman. And I’m thinking a studio about 400 square feet with an air fryer. So someplace in between that,” he joked. “The places to live in New York City, there are just so many good ones. We looked at SoHo, but there’s just not a lot of availability. I like the Upper West Side. We’ve looked at some on the Upper East Side, Midtown. And I’m just getting to know New York City, so we’re gonna still continue to look.”

Joan also chimed in and shared that their apartment search has been harder than they originally anticipated.

She said, “It’s also really hard if you’re not living there to be there enough to find a place. Because you’ll miss a place if you’re not there the day it becomes available, and sometimes it’s gone by the next day. So it’s been a little difficult because we have been a lot busier than we expected that we would be. We thought we’d be coming up and staying at hotels and looking at places all the time, and that has been so untrue. We have been in a million other places but really not that much in New York.”
