Joe Burrow’s health isn’t only the biggest question mark for his season. At this point, it’s the only one.

As NFL.com’s Nick Shook pointed out in his recent “Way-too-early top 10 MVP candidates”, Burrow should only be viewed as second in the entire league to the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes in terms of talent and the ability to elevate his team. (Even that might be underestimating Burrow.)

If Burrow comes out hot (and lights up Kansas City in Week 2 and/or Baltimore three weeks later), he’ll throw himself squarely into the conversation with much of the season still left to play.

That’s true. The Cincinnati Bengals fifth-year QB has a chance to have his best statistical season yet thanks to a relatively easy schedule, a new big-play option in Jermaine Burton, and probably the best offensive line he’s had as a pro.

Not only that, but Burrow will be playing with quite the chip on his shoulder after most have knocked him in rankings following wrist surgery.
