USA Hockey has announced that Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella will join Team USA as an assistant coach for the NHL's 4-Nations Face-Off, taking place from Feb. 12-20, 2025.
Tortorella joins David Quinn and John Hynes as assistant coaches to Mike Sullivan, bringing a combined 60-plus years of experience to Team USA's coaching staff.
This will be Tortorella's fifth time representing USA Hockey as coach.
With 742 wins across his 22-season NHL coaching career, Tortorella is the ninth-winningest coach in the league's history, and second-most among U.S.-born coaches.
For USA Hockey, he was an associate coach for the 2005 IIHF Men's World Championship, and head coach of the team for the 2008 tournament. He was an assistant coach during the 2010 Winter Olympics, where the U.S. took home a silver medal. Most recently, he served as the head coach for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
Tortorella was named the Flyers' bench boss in 2022, recording a 69-71-24 record going into his third season in Philadelphia. He has previously coached the Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks, and Columbus Blue Jackets.
