Julia Lemigova’s Wife Martina Navratilova Faces Backlash for Calling Surrogacy “Wrong” in Deleted Post as RHOM Fans React

The Real Housewives of Miami is now multiple episodes into its seventh season. So far, Julia Lemigova has gotten a ton of backlash over some of her actions toward Guerdy Abraira.

Of course, Julia’s wife, Martina Navratilova, has also felt some of the proverbial heat. Now, she’s embroiled in a controversy of her own as she recently posted and deleted some negative comments about people using surrogacy to have children.

Julia, 53, and Guerdy, 47, first butted heads after Guerdy couldn’t get into the Zoom call to watch her and Martina, 68, announce the adoption of their two boys. Following this, things worsened, and Julia threw a drink at Guerdy during a subsequent episode. 

Martina has now stirred up some controversy after sharing a post from a person named Sienna Rodgers that stated, “NEW: Egg donations- are young women aware of the risks? I reveal.” The post continued, “Cross-party MP concerns: ‘Women’s bodies are being commoditised’…”

Martina’s post read, “Surrogacy is just wrong. Sometimes you can’t have it all.” As mentioned, she deleted the post after seeing the beginnings of the backlash, but accounts like The Real Housewives Polls were able to capture the comments. 

Many fans of The Real Housewives of Miami chimed in with their reactions to her comments. On X, a person named Ishmael said, “These people just reveal more and more how terrible they are. How dare she impose on a woman’s choice with her body and how she experiences motherhood? Fu** ha.”

Someone else shared, “Says the 85-year-old who just adopted two young boys.”

Another user added, “Martina and Julia are trash. Get rid of them.” 

However, some commenters were either on Martina’s side or felt that people needed to read the article that was being referenced in the original post. One fan said, “Read the article. It’s about taking advantage of young girls with advertising and money.”

The reply continued, “OHSS – when ovaries overreact to hormonal stimulation – can present as anything from mild bloating to vomiting and blood clots; younger donors are at higher risk but are more desirable as they produce a higher number of eggs. It can be fatal: in England, two women died of complications arising from OHSS in 2005-06.”

Another person added, “She is entitled to voice her opinion, as is everyone else; you don’t have to agree with her.”
