Kailyn Lowry is opening up about “mom guilt.”
After she began to suspect her son Rio was facing a medical issue, the mother of seven shared that she recently learned her son was misdiagnosed.
Kailyn Lowry’s two-year-old son Rio has been receiving medical care after a misdiagnosis, the former Teen Mom star shared with fans.
She recently opened up with more details on her podcast Coffee Convos.
She explained that she and Rio’s doctor immediately believed that her son had a hernia above his belly button.
“I thought it was from the ISR swim lessons because he has to roll over and float on his back,” Kailyn explained on the podcast.
“And so I thought the stress of that created this little lump that looked like a hernia.”
She was initially told that the lump would go away on its own.
But recently, she realized this wasn’t going to happen.
“This year, over the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed this protruding out of his abdomen,” Kailyn explained on her podcast. “And in the one, if you zoom in, it sort of looks discolored a little bit.”
Kailyn was in the midst of receiving a new diagnosis at the time of recording her podcast.
She explained that Rio will soon have a biopsy to remove the lump.
Kailyn shared that she’s still struggling with guilt over the events.
“When it comes to your health, check everything out because I really thought it was a hernia this whole time and they told me it was going to resolve itself,” she said.
“I didn’t ask for a second opinion….now I have mom guilt,” she explained.
“The fact that neoplasia cannot be ruled out just freaked me out.”
