K’Andre Miller is trending on making a return for the New York Rangers from an upper-body injury.

Miller sustained this apparent injury during the New York Rangers’ 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Dec. 11.

The 24-year-old defenseman was quickly placed on injured reserve as he missed the next six games.

During Friday’s practice, Miller was back on the ice with the rest of the team.

Chad Ruhwedel was also sent down to the Hartford Wolf Pack, meaning Miller is set to come off of injured reserve and rejoin the active roster.

Even though Peter Laviolette didn’t confirm whether or not Miller will play on Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning, he sounded optimistic about his eventual return.

“He looked good, that was his first practice,” Laviolette said. “We haven't had a lot of practice time inside of the schedule. That’s just where we are at in the year, coming off of three games in three and a half days… It was a good practice for him and a good step in the right direction.”

Laviolette confirmed that Miller is day-to-day, but all signs point toward him traveling with the team for their upcoming road trip and playing on Saturday night.

In 28 games this season, Miller has recorded two goals, four assists and six points while averaging 21:21 minutes.
