The RHOP O.G. also shares how she plans to treat the blockage in her heart.
Karen Huger may be the Grande Dame of Potomac, but she felt like a second fiddle to husband Ray Huger when she went through a health scare.
During Season 8, Episode 2 The Real Housewives of Potomac, Karen opened up to fellow cast members Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, and Mia Thornton about how she recently discovered that she had a calcium deposit in her heart.
Though she acknowledged that the deposit only caused a five percent blockage and that it was not life-threatening, Karen took the matter very seriously because she was approaching her milestone Triple Twenty birthday.
Fast-forward to Season 8, Episode 9, which will air on January 14, and Karen will open up to Ray about how she felt a lack of support from him during her diagnosis. Find out what she revealed by scrolling below, or by watching the preview clip at the top of this post.
Karen Huger Says There's "No Excuse" for Ray's Lack of Support
At the beginning of the episode, Karen and Ray sat together in their gazebo to discuss how her recent health issue put a slight strain on their relationship.
"I know you and I always put a smile on every day [but] when I got my results from my cardiologist, you dropped the ball," Karen tells her husband of 27 years. "I know you are a super busy man, OK? But when I ring the phone and you're like, 'What [do] you need? What [do] you want?' like you're so busy, you know, timing my ass. I should be the priority, making sure I'm OK.
"Ray the starts to explain that he was busy at the time when Karen called, to which she responds that there was "no excuse in the world, though."
"You took my call, but it was a very insensitive reaction you gave, [or] response," she continues. "And you were, like, rushing me off the phone, babe, and it really hurt."
"I would have taken nobody else's call," Ray says in response. "Please forgive me."
The two make amends, and Karen then elaborates on the issue with her carotid artery.
Karen Huger Opens Up About Her Recent Health Scare
After getting back on track with Ray, Karen shares how she plans to treat the minor blockage in her artery.
"The five percent plaque build-up, you can't do anything about it," she says, though she notes that she "can prevent it from getting worse."
She says that she is doing that, noting in an interview on the episode that her "heart condition, thank God, is not serious."
"The diet is great, exercise is great," she continues. "I do all of that, and just being vigilant about my health will stop any more build-up."
