With Vanderpump Rules on hiatus, it is hard to figure out where most of the cast stands with one another. However, when it comes to Lala Kent and Katie Maloney, it isn’t hard to figure out that the two women are on the outs. The mother of two has always been a tough cookie to get along with. While Katie just recently found her voice. The two Bravo stars used to get along. But somewhere along the way, they lost the love they once had for one another.
What’s the VPR drama between Katie Maloney and Lala Kent?
At the end of the Season 10 reunion, Katie and Lala were not in a good place. Fans watched as Lala accused Katie of saying negative things about Ariana Madix while the cameras were down. During the tell-all, Katie seemed blindsided by the accusations. While viewers didn’t see that betrayal coming. It turns out that Katie and Lala had a falling out six months before filming took place. The former friends seemed to throw their negative feelings overboard on the boat in San Francisco. The hatchet wasn’t fully buried. Katie hasn’t spoken to Lala since the reunion, so they are definitely on the outs. But with so much positive going on in both their lives, it doesn’t look like either one of them is losing sleep over the lost friendship.
Katie opened up while on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, sharing, “I think her and I, and our lives are in slightly different places, and sometimes it just means you’re not meeting on the same page.” Katie continued, “And, I don’t know, I just, I felt like, obviously, she had been harboring certain feelings and thinking certain things that I didn’t know that she had felt, and so she was saving them for the reunion, which I didn’t feel like was super authentic.” It turns out that Katie was turned off by her friendship with Lala. She added, “I was just grossed out. I was icked out.”
The end of a Vanderpump Rules era
During her Give Them Lala podcast, the Vanderpump Rules star opened up about where she stood with the Something About Her owner. But it turns out she is also over her friendship with Kristen Doute and Ariana. The Bravo star added, “I’ve had fun times where it was like, I think about me and the Witches of WeHo, where there were so many fun times that if I could go back and relive those moments, I totally would.” Lala shared, “They all have a really special place in my heart. I had a really fun time with Ariana when I first was on the show. Katie, we were friends for a really long time, but in Season 10, I felt that that friendship was really on point.”
Season 10 showed a fracture in the group, thanks to Scandoval. Lala also spoke against Ariana, which didn’t exactly paint her in the best light. The former SUR hostess added, “I don’t want to say it served its purpose like I needed to get something out of it. But when I think back, I’m like, even though it was a hard time in my life, that friendship really got me through a tough time in my life, so that friendship, I’m very fond of.”
Lala Kent is happy with her friendship breakup
According to Lala, it is “sad” to see a “shift” in her friendship with Katie as they were once “very close.” The mother of two even hinted that their friendship had run its course. Lala added, “I don’t think now we have anything in common … I don’t even know what we would talk about. We’re in such different places, and I think that friendship was meant to be the way it was for the time being, and it ran its course.” She added, “And I think that’s totally okay.”
For Lala, “I have nothing but fond memories of the friendship I had with Ariana and Doute, but people change and move on, and there’s not a lot to talk about anymore, and we’re just in different stages of life,” she noted, “So no matter why we fell off, I don’t really give a sh*t. What I do know is the time that we had together I really enjoyed, and I wish them all the best.”
Sadly, for Vanderpump Rules fans, it doesn’t look like these two will reconcile anytime soon.
