Katya Jones drops Strictly Come Dancing bombshell and says 'I'm not getting any younger'

Strictly Come Dancing's very own Katya Jones has opened up about her career plans.

The professional dancer experienced quite the tumultuous journey on the most recent series of BBC One's dance extravaganza, where she was teamed up with Wynne Evans.

The duo became one of the dynamic pairs in Strictly's 2024 series. They made it very far – but exited the show during its landmark 20th anniversary, just before the grand finale.

Subsequently, the duo dazzled on the road in the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour starting this past January. Yet, their dazzling collaboration reached an abrupt conclusion shortly into the 30-venue spectacular.

Following an apology from Wynne, 53, for an 'inappropriate' comment at the start of the tour, he has disclosed his decision to step back from the limelight amidst recent controversy.

In a statement shared via his Instagram Story, the Welsh opera singer stated: "I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing."

Despite the setback, the live shows pressed on with Katya gracing the stage in group performances. The tour wrapped up its run in early February – and it seems the 35-year-old dancer has been busy ever since.

She recently swapped the UK for Australia and has been keeping her fans updated with the many "priceless moments" during her travels. Katya has also been engaging with her fans – including during a recent Q&A session on Instagram.

When one follower asked about filming that she had done that week, Katya teased an exciting new project. She shared a picture of a nude high heel – and added: "Can't tell you just yet but it will be coming out next month! [eyes emoji]. That's all I can show you."

She also revealed her excitement for 2025 when asked about her plans, telling her followers: "Actually 2025 is looking very exciting! Quite a few projects and jobs that I've been working on for a while!"

Katya also hinted that she may be taking on more projects beyond the ballroom – and could even find herself on a judging panel herself one day.

She said: "Strictly is what has allowed me to have this platform and I will continue doing it as long as I have the same passion for it. But we are growing and evolving. And not getting any younger. So it is important to keep looking ahead and create a future for myself doing things I love."

When asked which judge she would be most like, Katya posed by a 'judges only' sign and teased: "Hm... we might get to see soon what kind of judge I am going to be." It certainly sounds like she's got plenty of fun in the pipeline!
