The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, has just made three recalls.
This was the rumor circulating this morning, and now it has been confirmed, and we even have the exact names.
William Trudeau, Lucas Condotta, and Brandon Gignac have been recalled from the Laval Rocket to allow some regular players to rest. We can certainly expect all three to be in Martin St-Louis' lineup tonight (against the Ottawa Senators).
This morning in a press conference, Martin St-Louis mentioned that he would be giving a night off to his first line (Juraj Slafkovsky, Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki), to Kirby Dach, and a few other regulars.
Recalls became necessary, and that's what Kent Hughes has just addressed.

See the official announcement.
It's especially a pleasant surprise for William Trudeau, and a well-deserved recall for him.
Trudeau, 21 years old, is a left-handed defenseman from Varennes (Quebec) and was a fourth-round pick by the Montreal Canadiens in 2021 (113th overall).
Last season with the Laval Rocket, he recorded 24 points in 70 games, while being extremely responsible in both ends of the rink. The Canadiens' management likes him a lot, and rightfully so.
As for Condotta and Gignac, they are solid veterans and will undoubtedly have an important role for Pascal Vincent's squad this season.
