Kenya Moore is speaking out after her dramatic exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Less than two weeks after viewers watched Kenya’s final episode in season 16, the Bravo star is addressing the explicit photo scandal involving costar Brittany Eady.
“It was wrong,” Kenya, 54, shared in a YouTube video posted Saturday, April 19. “I should not have done it at my salon I worked so hard for. I am very sorry that I shared the photos because it wasn’t right. I did not break the law, and I’m very sorry for what I did.”
On the April 6, episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya hosted the cast at the grand opening of her Kenya Moore Hair Spa business. During the event, the Bravo star unveiled explicit pictures of Brittany, 37.
After the event, Bravo conducted an investigation and decided Kenya, who has appeared on more than 10 seasons of RHOA since her season 5 debut, could not film with the cast for the rest of the season.
As new episodes continue airing on Sunday nights, Kenya is sharing new details on her own platform. Keep reading to see the most shocking claims from her video titled “The Confessional They Tried to Silence.”
In a YouTube video posted on April 10, Porsha Williams alleged that Kenya wasn’t the only cast member involved with sharing elicit photos of Brittany.
“One of these Housewives who is still on the show is the one who gave Kenya a big part of that nude information,” she alleged. “Who did all this research? Who did it besides the Housewife who gave you the footage? It was a lot.”
Kenya, however, denied her costar’s claims saying, “We did not get any photos from any person.”
“The photos were online on various porn sites, many porn sites,” she claimed. “I don’t watch porn. I’m not a porn expert. … These investigators and everyone involved…found those images and they’re still there.”
Before hosting the grand opening of Kenya Moore Hair Spa, Kenya said she engaged with a local attorney “who advised me about the federal as well as the Georgia state law.”
“I shared photos that were readily available online,” she claimed. “I did not commit revenge porn. I shared a publicly available photo that was accessible online.”
In a previous episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Brittany was caught on camera feuding with Kenya before saying, “I don’t play them games! I got whip, motherf***ing pistols, everything!”
During an April 13 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Brittany said she “never had a gun in my possession at all.”
Host Andy Cohen told viewers that weapons are not allowed on set and an investigation determined Brittany didn’t violate the policy. A Bravo spokesperson also shared with Us Weekly, “Weapons are not allowed on set. After an investigation, it was determined that Brit did not violate that policy.”
In her YouTube video, Kenya responded to her WWHL appearance. “I take a lot of umbrage to someone now saying that they didn’t have a gun,” she said. “Somehow, that’s supposed to absolve them of everything that happened after?”
In response to a fan who questioned how much she makes on Bravo, Kenya stayed mum before claiming, “I think it’s decent to say that I make more than the girls on the show now.”
“I don’t talk about money when it comes to my own money,” she said. “I see a lot of crazy reports saying my net worth is $800,000. My house is worth $3 million. How is my net worth $800,000? I own that much in cars. Just stop! I think it’s tacky to talk about money so I’ll just leave it at that.”
In her latest video, Kenya said she was invited to the season 16 reunion “and then disinvited a few months ago.”
“The disrespect is insane,” she claimed. “From me being someone who has always loved Real Housewives of Atlanta and always wanted to see them win, to being shut out, not given the opportunity to apologize … I think it’s really odd.” Later on, the Atlanta resident raised eyebrows when she added, “I don’t anticipate an invitation. Yah, I don’t see that."
With regards to claims that Kenya was invited and disinvited, a Bravo spokesperson confirms, "This is not accurate."
