After a mixed performance in the preseason game, Cleveland Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski acknowledged that while there were some encouraging moments, the team’s effort still didn’t meet the high expectations of their passionate fan base. Stefanski made it clear that there is still much work to be done as the team prepares for their regular season opener next week.
"I understand the frustration from our fans," Stefanski said in his post-game press conference. "We had some good plays, but we’re not there yet. Our fans expect us to compete at a high level, and we’re not satisfied with what we showed today. We’ve got to continue to improve, and that’s what we’re focused on."
Stefanski highlighted that while the team demonstrated flashes of potential, there were key areas, such as offensive execution, defensive consistency, and special teams, that need to be addressed before the season begins. The focus now shifts to refining those aspects through intense preparation.
"This game is part of the process, but we’re not going to rest on anything that was good enough today," he continued. "We know we have the talent, and we have to make sure we’re all on the same page heading into next week."
With the regular season opener just around the corner, Stefanski has promised to work closely with his players, especially focusing on the execution of key plays, increasing team chemistry, and eliminating mistakes made during the preseason. The upcoming practices will involve tighter game simulations and more team-oriented drills.
"Our fans deserve better, and we know we can deliver," Stefanski added. "We’ve got a week to fine-tune, and I’m confident that this team will be ready to compete at the level they expect."
With Stefanski’s leadership and determination, the Browns are ready to bounce back and make the necessary adjustments for the season ahead.
