Kim Zolciak reveals which star made her feel 'safe and reassured' on Surreal Life as she works with Josie Canseco, OT Genasis and 'great guy' Chet Hanks

Kim Zolciak-Biermann has new pals.

The reality TV star said has made some 'really great friendships' during the production of her new show Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets, which debuts Tuesday.

The Georgia native admitted that the whole experience made her reevaluate her role as a mother, especially after becoming estranged from her own parents.

The 46-year-old reality star split from NFL player Kroy Biermann - with whom she has Brielle, 27, Ariana, 22, KJ, 13, Kash, 11, and 10-year-old twins Kaia and Kane - in May after 12 years of marriage.

She told Entertainment Tonight: 'I made some really great friendships, and through these friendships, including Josie [Canseco], I learned so much from her and Macy [Gray].

'Having O.T. [Genasis] there made me feel safe and reassured. Initially, I was very nervous, but having him there helped me realize it was going to be okay.

'This experience gave me the time to think about what I truly want and the changes I need to make.

'My own parents did things that caused a rift, and I haven't spoken to them for years. It's one thing to mess with me, but don't mess with my kids.

'Going through this experience, I questioned who I could trust. But to breathe and get that release was one of the most incredible days of my life.

'I needed the clarity that release gave me.'

The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star noted that people 'have no idea' what is really going on in her life amid the split and while she has 'no idea' what will happen in the future, she just wants to 'get to know' herself again.

She added: 'People have no idea what's really going on.

'I will remain as quiet as I can throughout this process for my children's sake. I don't know what the future holds. I don't know what the future holds for me in that regard.

Macy was also on hand to dole out advice to the Don't Be tardy star

'I am happier now than I've been in a long time.

'You know, I have stepped out of my comfort zone in so many situations that have been life-changing, just like the Surreal Life.

The whole experience as you watch, you'll see, and I just feel like I love Kim. You know, I've had, I had to like get to know Kim again throughout this process and really fall in love with Kim and choose Kim. Choosing Kim is not an easy thing for me.'

This comes after she played coy about a potential new onscreen romance.

She  said fans will have to 'wait and see' what happens to between her and Chet Hanks on Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets.

'Chet's a great guy,' she told People. 'I mean, he's adorable. We've had a lot of incredible moments throughout the season that you'll see. We've had some deep conversations and he's great.'

'I just talked to Chet yesterday,' added Zolciak-Biermann, who said she and her co-stars are 'friends for life' after spending two weeks filming together.

The cast also includes Macy Gray, Tyler Posey, Ally Brooke, Johnny Weir, OT Genasis and Josie Canseco.

She admitted that she didn't know who Chet, 33, was before stepping into the house. 'I had to call [daughter] Brielle and ask who Chet was,' said Zolciak Biermann.

'She's like, "Mom, there's only one Chet in the world,'' added Kim. 'I'm like, "Chet who?" She's like, "Hanks."'

'Kim is a MILF,' Chet acknowledges in a confessional.

The promo also showed him and Zolciak-Biermann going off to a room together, where a black-and-white night vision camera catches him crawling into her bed.

'That's gonna look so terrible,' she could be heard saying in her own confessional.

In the trailer, Kim told her co-stars about the end of her marriage to Kroy Biermann, with whom she tied the knot in 2011.

'Kroy does not want me here,' she said. 'When I go home, I'm getting a divorce.

Kroy, 38, filed for divorce from Kim in August, despite the pair trying to work through their issues after she filed for divorce months earlier in May 2023.

The pair was involved in a shouting match in November, which prompted one of their younger kids to call the police to their home.

In body cam footage of the incident, Kroy can be heard calling Kim a 'narcissist' and accusing her of '[sleeping with] other men.'

She addressed the 'hurtful allegations' in a statement on Instagram, calling Kroy's comments 'obviously enraged' and 'untrue.'

'I vehemently deny any allegation that I have been unfaithful to Kroy at any point in our 12-year marriage,' she continued. 'Any claim to the contrary is downright false, baseless, and slanderous.'

Kim continued, 'I have tried not to speak on these hurtful allegations, but I am at a breaking point with this and I will not stay silent when my character is being assassinated.'
