Kirk Returns In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4, Confirms Actor

Lieutenant Sam Kirk actor Dan Jeannotte confirms he is returning for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4. The highly anticipated Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 premieres July 17 on Paramount+ after a two-year wait. Strange New Worlds season 3 picks up from Strange New Worlds season 2's cliffhanger finale before launching the Starship Enterprise on a new wave of genre-bending adventures.

On his Instagram, Dan Jeannotte (@dan.jeannotte) posted a photo of himself on the set of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 wearing Lieutenant Sam Kirk's trademark mustache (or "#kirkstache"). Jeannotte has a recurring role on Strange New Worlds, and Dan's confirmation that he's back filming in Toronto means audiences will continue to see more of Lt. James T. Kirk's (Paul Wesley) older brother on the USS Enterprise. Check out Dan's Instagram post below:

Sam's Staying On The Starship Enterprise

Gorn fight

Lieutenant Sam Kirk confirmed to be part of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 means that Sam survives his Gorn abduction that happened at the end of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2. Of course, Sam Kirk does have 'plot armor.' Star Trek fans know that Sam doesn't canonically die until "Operation - Annihilate!", the final episode of Star Trek: The Original Series season 1, where Sam was played by a mustachioed William Shatner. However, what happens in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 is top secret.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3's trailer makes it clear that Lt. Sam Kirk, Lt. La'an Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong), Lt. Erica Ortegas (Melissa Navia), and Dr. Joseph M'Benga (Babs Olusanmokun) make it back to the USS Enterprise after their ordeal with the Gorn. They are part of Strange New Worlds season 3's big swing episodes, like Jonathan Frakes' "Hollywood murder mystery" and the episode where the Starship Enterprise crew are turned into Vulcans. And, of course, Sam's brother, Lt. James T. Kirk, also returns in Strange New Worlds season 3 for more Kirk sibling rivalry.
