“We’ve been doing good,” Kordell continued. “No major thing is happening that's causing anything—just smooth sailings. I'm happy. We're happy. It’s been nothing but fun times so far.”
Indeed, the fan-favorite couple has come to appreciate a relaxing night in after spending so many dramatic nights completing challenges and sleeping outside in the Fiji air.
As Kordell put it, he and Serena, 25, prefer to “sit in the crib, order some food and watch a series.”
“I still take her out on dates, though,” he clarified. “We still go do some fun things. But if I had to choose the best one, it's those nights—especially after a hard day of work.”
During those chill nights at home, Serena has even had the opportunity see a different side of Kordell—in his role as “cat dad” to his orange cat Milo. And with the help of Temptations treats, he has been able to teach his energetic feline—who has taken quite a liking to his girlfriend—some impressive tricks.

“He knows how to sit on command,” Kordell gushed of Milo. “He knows how to speak if he's not stubborn, he knows how to follow—if he's upstairs, I call his name and tell him come down and he comes down.”
And with Love Island USA returning for season seven in less than a month—with Ariana Madix up for her second outing as host—perhaps the trio can binge the reality show while chowing down on their go-to Jollibee spicy chicken. After all, Kordell offered up some of his best advice for the new islanders.
“Just be you,” he said. “Don't try to create a narrative. Don't try to think about the audience or the people that's watching or try to limit yourself from doing things you think the audience wouldn't like—just being in your head. Just be you. That’ll get you further than whatever image you're trying to create.”
