Kristen Doute didn’t take any chances.
After noticing abnormal swelling in one of her feet, The Valley cast member checked into the hospital to rule out any serious health issues that could affect her pregnancy. Kristen shared the experience in a May 3 Instagram video filmed from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she plans to give birth to her and Luke Broderick’s first child.
Kristen Doute was hospitalized to rule out a potential blood clot
“Thirty-three weeks and four days,” she said while lying in a hospital bed. “Got a little swelling in the foot, and so we just wanna make sure it’s not a blood clot.”
Kristen said her baby girl was “all monitored up” and appeared to be doing A-OK.
“You can hear her heartbeat,” the mother-to-be continued. “She was kicking a lot yesterday, so hopefully everything’s fine. It’s my first time here.”

Kristen returned to Instagram about an hour later, shortly after she was released from the hospital. She informed viewers she was heading home after doctors determined she and the baby were perfectly fine.

“All is well. I’m getting so emotional,” she said from her car. “This was my first time at the hospital that I’m giving birth at. The staff is so nice. Everyone is so nice. It was so easy breezy and just left me not very worried. It’s not a blood clot. It’s just a cyst. I guess that sometimes that just happens. Why am I so emotional?”

During her hospitalization, Kristen was told she was having contractions, which was news to her.
"I don’t know what contractions feel like," she said. "So I’m so curious about first-time mamas, like, when do you know? I guess you just know when it’s time and you’re going into labor, which I’m not… So, yeah, that’s the baby update. She’s doing amazing.”
Kristen expanded on her brief hospital stay in the video caption, specifically praising her doctors and the Cedars-Sinai medical staff.
“I’m so emo right now,” she wrote. “I have the best doctors in the world and all the women at Cedars are so incredible. The new and unknown can be intimidating but I’m really glad I got to see where we will be in 6 weeks or so!”

Kristen and her fiancé, Luke, announced their baby No. 1 news in November 2024, nearly three months after getting engaged. The Vanderpump Rules alum spoke about her upcoming family addition in a recent interview with The Daily Dish, saying she and Luke chose their daughter’s name before she even got pregnant.
“Baby has a name… I came up with it, and Luke really liked it,” Kristen said about.. “So we’re really excited.”
