Kristin Cavallari Asks Austen Kroll About *Those* Past Dating Rumors

The whispers began swirling in 2020, after the Southern Charm-er connected with Kristin in Charleston.

Austen Kroll has apparently set the record straight on his relationship with Kristin Cavallari.

The Southern Charm cast member reunited with Kristin earlier this year for a live taping of her Let’s Be Honest podcast. Fans got a peek at the sit-down in a newly released trailer for Honestly Cavallari, an upcoming reality series documenting Kristin’s life and U.S. podcast tour.

“You just wanna spill tea on stage, huh?” Austen asked the titular host in the promo.

The preview then showed Kristin inviting the Southern Charm-er and Craig Conover on stage before bluntly asking, “Did anything ever happen between the two of us?” The video then cut to a shot of Austen, who coyly replied, “Well...”

Elsewhere in the trailer, Kristin’s good friend Justin Anderson dared the host to kiss Craig on the lips, causing the crowd to cheer and applaud. 

How Austen Kroll and Craig Conover met Kristin Cavallari

Kristin, Craig, and Austen’s love triangle rumors began circulating more than four years ago, after the trio agreed to meet up in Charleston. Austen touched on the get-together during a December 2020 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, claiming they connected after Kristin “slid into Craig’s DMs.”

“She was like, ‘I’m coming into town,’ so we all went to dinner,” Austen recalled. “We all kinda hit it off. We wanted to go and visit them [in Nashville], and we did. We all get along so well.”

The dating rumors were fueled in Summer House Season 6 (2022) when Craig was pursuing his now-ex-girlfriend Paige DeSorbo. In Episode 3, Lindsay Hubbard informed Paige about Craig and Kristin’s rumored romance. Craig insisted he never dated Kristin but admitted he “hooked up with her before.”

Kristin addressed her relationship with the Southern Charm-ers on WWHL, stating that there was no truth to the romance rumors.

“We were all really good friends for a while, and we had a drunk night, and we all posted some stupid Instagram dancing around, and it got blown out of proportion,” she told Andy Cohen in the September 2023 episode. “I’m still friends with them [and] actually, Austen is coming to Nashville this week, so I think that I’m getting dinner with him. So, we’re all friends.”  

Andy then asked Kristin if she ever “hooked up” with Craig.

“I may have been drunk one night and kissed Craig,” she admitted.

When does Honestly Cavallari premiere?

Honestly Cavallari premieres June 4 on E! with back-to-back episodes. Other guests will include The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak and Kristin’s former Laguna Beach castmates. Kristin said the series will be "more personal" and "way more emotional" than any other show she's done.

"With live shows, anything can happen," she told People magazine. "But I went into it thinking like, 'Oh, this is going to be easy. It's going to be a breeze. Nothing's going to come up.' And I was very wrong about that."
