Kwesi Adofo-Mensah's next high-upside reclamation project for Minnesota Vikings would provide elite potential at position of need

Earlier this week, the National Basketball Association approved their first-ever seven-team trade. It wasn't necessarily a traditional trade like others in the past that have involved multiple teams, but rather multiple deals that they combined into one to make the financials work.

That got us thinking here at A to Z Sports. What could a potential National Football League seven-team trade look like? We decided to take a look at it.

Vikings acquire CB JuJu Brents in hypothetical trade

The trade was designed to help all teams involved, including assets from multiple teams exchanging hands. The Minnesota Vikings also got some help at cornerback.

Lions get: Edge Tyree Wilson
Cowboys get: NT DJ Reader
Vikings get: CB JuJu Brents and a 2026 7th-round pick from the Colts
Giants get: WR Romeo Doubs and a 2026 5th-round pick from the Vikings
Colts get: 2026 6th-round pick from the Raiders
Packers get: CB Trevon Diggs
Raiders get: Edge Kayvon Thibodeaux

Brents is an interesting player at the cornerback position. Not only does he have elite size and length at nearly 6'3 with 34" arms, he's also an excellent athlete.

He's the perfect type of player for the Vikings to take a chance on and one that fits exactly what general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah likes to do consistently. Plus, it fits the perceived need the Vikings have at cornerback in terms of depth. The difficult part for Brents is his lack of playing time so far in the NFL.

In 2023, Brents played in nine games, missing time with a quad injury, and missed 15 games with meniscus and PCL injuries. That is a serious problem, as both staying on the field and leg injuries can be a huge problem. However, the Vikings think they have a major advantage over the rest of the NFL with their medical staff.

Being able to keep Brents on the field is the first step with the second one is activating the elite-level prospect that I believed he was coming out of Kansas State. His length is a true weapon in a similar way that Richard Sherman's was for the Seattle Seahawks in the heyday of the Legion of Boom.

The other really intriguing aspect of the entire discussion is: can Brents play press-man? Well, I once compared him to Ivan Drago for starters. He got a very high second-round grade from me for elite-level potential.

The price is also right for the Vikings. Yes, they give up a fifth-round pick in next year's draft, but they got back a seventh, meaning the pick swap is something that fits with general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah's past when it comes to trades. It also gives the Vikings size they lack in the cornerback room. It would also be a stand alone trade that I believe would be a great bet for the Vikings outside of this wild proposal.

Will Brents be able to reach his potential? He seems to be on the outs in Indianapolis, and a high-upside bet for the Vikings could pay off in a major way. If it doesn't, it's still a swing worth taking.
