Kyle Okposo Tells Incredible Story After Winning Stanley Cup

Kyle Okposo told an amazing story after winning the Stanley Cup.

The Florida Panthers secured their first Stanley Cup in franchise history on Monday night, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 final score in Game 7. It was a great series between two spectacular clubs, but ultimately, the Cats emerged victorious.

With this, former Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo finally won the Stanley Cup. It took the 2006 first-round pick 17 seasons and 1,051 career NHL games to get here, and it is impossible not to feel happy for the Minnesota native. If Okposo hangs up the skates this summer, it would be a great way to go out.

After winning the Stanley Cup, Okposo told an incredible story, which he shared with his eight-year-old son.

The former Sabres captain started his story by saying: "I told him, my oldest son is eight years old, and when I was his age, I was watching the Stanley Cup. And I said 'You're going to be at the game tomorrow. At Game 7 of the Stanley Cup, and I was in the driveway wishing I was in the Stanley Cup Finals. How cool is that?'"

Okposo added, "Last night, I played one on two against my boys. I found that boyhood dream again. Just was a phenomenal timeout from everything."

This is such a wholesome moment that Okposo shared with his sons. In the end, he helped get the job done for the Panthers, and he will forever be known as a Stanley Cup champion.
