Kyle Richards reacted to Dorit Kemsley‘s recent divorce filing and spoke of her lack of communication with Garcelle Beauvais while attending an event benefiting the Women’s Cancer Research Fund with Teddi Mellencamp on Monday.
Days after Dorit, 48, filed for divorce from husband Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57, and weeks after Garcelle, 58, announced her departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle, 56, revealed the “best thing” that’s come out of her time on the show, addressed Teddi’s latest cancer update, and looked back on Paris Hilton‘s DJ set at Stagecoach.
“I haven’t spoken with [Dorit],” Kyle shared with Extra TV on April 28. “I sent her a text, and that’s all you can do is reach out, and when she’s ready … I know it’s a very difficult time. It’s always sad to see a family broken up, always.”
While Kyle and Dorit had been close in the past, season 14 featured turmoil between them, and they have yet to get back to the friendship they once had.
Speaking of how the season ended, Kyle admitted, “I felt horrible,” before noting that she’s been distracted by Teddi’s health battle in the months since.
“That feels like nothing now compared to what’s been going on these last couple months. It was a difficult season for sure, but things like this really put things into perspective,” she explained.
In another interview with Access Hollywood, Kyle commented on Garcelle’s exit from RHOBH, admitting that while she’s reached out by text, she has yet to get a response.
“I have not heard from her. I felt bad that she was not coming back. I was excited that our friendship was blossoming and going to a deeper level, and now she’s gone. It’s sad. I hope [to reconnect], off camera or on camera. But she’s gonna do great. She’ll be great no matter what,” Kyle stated.
Moving on to her friendship with Teddi, 43, Kyle said their relationship means “so much” to her, and she described Teddi as “more than just a friend.”
“She’s definitely the best thing that ever came out of doing [RHOBH] for me by far, and I’m so grateful for her,” Kyle gushed. “And having something like this happen, it felt very surreal, obviously, and I’m just so happy to see her. We got great news the other day, so that made us all very happy and very excited, and very emotional. I was actually in Target on FaceTime with her and the doctors, sobbing in Target while we’re ringing up all the things.”
“It gives us a lot of hope now, and hopefully it gives many people hope out there,” she added of Teddi’s announcement that all of her tumors have “shrunk or disappeared.”
Kylea also spoke of the cancer battle of Olivia Munn, 44, who was being honored at the event.
“I lost my mother to breast cancer, and I have four daughters, so to see women go through this and come out on the other side, and she’s out there working. I heard her talking about being self-conscious of her scars, and I’m thinking, ‘You’re so beautiful. You’re so talented. Nobody’s thinking about that.’ But her even just saying that, so many people feel that way,” she noted. “It’s very inspiring to see people like that, like seeing Teddi here tonight.”
Moving on to her recent trip to Stagecoach, where she was seen with Paris, 44, Lizzo, 37, and Sydney Sweeney, 27, Kyle said it was great to see her niece in her element.
“I had my daughters there too. It was so fun to see Paris. She’s so great at DJing… And the crowd went crazy,” Kyle revealed. “She had such a huge crowd, and I was just so proud of her. It was just so fun to see her like that.”
