Las Vegas Raiders players are already getting the Pete Carroll experience firsthand at rookie minicamp

When you start doing a list of the best players coaches in the NFL, there is no way you can leave off Pete Carroll, the Las Vegas Raiders' new head coach. Go back to his days with the Seattle Seahawks, and you will see how well it worked out for him. Now he's trying to bring that to Vegas.

And it worked out in Seattle pretty well, with one Super Bowl win over the Denver Broncos and another appearance but a loss to the New England Patriots, so why not bring that style to Vegas? Not to mention, he gets the most out of his players when he's the way he is with them.

Some of you may have no idea what I'm talking about. Some of you already know. Just know that when practice starts, and you see Carroll putting on his football gloves, the same kind that wide receivers and DBs wear, he's about to get serious. Carroll goes all out in practice, and the players love it.

In fact, during rookie minicamp, which started this weekend, he showed some of the rookies firsthand what the Pete Carroll experience was like. In fact, some of the rookies got to see Carroll get in his backpedal and even do some of the cornerback drills.

“I think it's awesome to have your head coach out there giving you that one-on-one, or with the other cornerbacks, giving you those kinds of tips with his gloves on," third-round pick Darien Porter said. "He's out there working on his press. So, it's funny, but I really appreciate it. And to see that kind of energy at rookie minicamp early in the process is awesome."

The players coach role in the NFL is one that is usually pretty successful, but Carroll takes it to a whole other level. Andy Reid, the Kansas City Chiefs head coach, is a players coach, but not because he is doing drills, but more because of the relationships he has established with his players.

With Carroll, him being this way will go a long way for him. These players will love him, and the relationship between the two sides will grow strong. Then, the players will be willing to do anything on the field for Carroll.
