Dancing With The Stars pro dancer Laura Nolan has said it would be “incredible” to win the show for the first time - as she opens up about wedding plans after the show ends. Laura has never won the RTE One show but is now the favourite to lift the glitterball trophy this Sunday with her celebrity dance partner and Olympic gymnast Rhys McClenaghan.
Laura said it would be incredible to finally win the coveted title on Sunday night. She said: “I think as a professional dancer going through five seasons, it would be incredible to win it. There is a lot to the process. It’s more than just winning as well. There’s so many things you can take away from it every single year.
“It’s all about for me creating really amazing routines every single week and to be able to be proud of what you create and to try and get your partner to be as good as they can. So for me.. it feels like I am already winning but of course, to win, it would be lovely too.”
“To get to the final is a massive achievement,” she added.
Speaking ahead of the final, Rhys said he’s treating his final week of dancing “like any other week”. “For me, it is like any other week on the show. I don’t feel like it is the final show.”
Laura added: “I feel like the final is like a celebration of what you have done for the whole season so its more excitement than pressure.”
Laura also revealed she will be in wedding planning mode after the final is over – as she is set to tie the knot to former Love Island star Matthew MacNaab in Kilkea Castle in Co Kildare. The loved-up couple got engaged last November with Matthew getting down on bended knee in Los Angeles.
Laura revealed the couple have finally set a date and a venue.
“We have a date. We have a venue. We have it all booked in now so it is all go from here. We’re booked in for next year in Kilkea Castle so we’re very excited about it.
Now it’s all about arranging everything… trying to find a dress, trying to find a florist and all that. We’re really excited,” she added.
