Lightning Head Coach Lands Big Gig

Jon Cooper has a big night ahead of him.

While the Tampa Bay Lightning are out of the playoffs, they should watch Game 5 of the Western Conference Final on Friday night between the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars.

NHL -- Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper might be the most interesting man in hockey - ESPN

TNT announced that Lightning head coach Jon Cooper will work as a guest studio analyst for the big matchup. Cooper will join Wayne Gretzky, Henrik Lundqvist, Anson Carter, Paul Bissonnette, and Liam McHugh in the studio.

Cooper, 56, certainly has a connection with TNT. The Lightning bench boss won the 2024 Mr. TNT trophy, which is awarded to the player or coach who brings the best personality to the TNT broadcast. TNT's studio crew voted for the winner.

Now, after being named Mr. TNT, he once again is joining the broadcast with this latest guest analyst invite. Given his entertaining personality, it should be a real treat to see the British Columbia native in action.

Game 5 between the Oilers and Stars starts at 8:30 p.m. ET.
