Lindsay Hubbard Doesn’t Care What Carl Radke Thinks of Her Pregnancy as Summer House Star Talks Baby’s Gender and Names, Plus Reveals Real Reason She’s Keeping Boyfriend’s Identity a Secret

Lindsay Hubbard isn’t worried about how Carl Radke will respond to the news of her pregnancy.

Days after the Summer House star confirmed she’s expecting her first child with a Fourth of July post on Instagram, Lindsay, 37, was asked about how Carl, 39, would learn the news as she also spoke of baby names, morning sickness, and her mystery boyfriend.

“It’s just so clear to me that the universe had a plan,” Lindsay began during a July 6 interview with PEOPLE. “I feel like my prayers were answered.”

As for Carl, Lindsay said, “I’m sure he’ll find out [about my pregnancy] when the rest of the world finds out.”

“I’m not calling him up and having a conversation with him,” she continued. “That relationship is in my past, and I can’t really focus on my past anymore because I’m so focused on my present and my future. And to be honest, his emotions are no longer my responsibility. It’s just not my problem anymore.”

According to Lindsay, who was pregnant when she filmed the season eight reunion, her newfound focus allowed her to maintain a “quiet, calm strength” throughout the taping.

“In the back of my mind, the whole time I was thinking, ‘Let me just get through this, and then I can focus on the important things that matter to me right now’ — which certainly wasn’t all that,” she stated.

Regarding the gender of her child, Lindsay said she and her boyfriend are keeping that a secret for now.

“We’re not telling anyone what we’re having yet, but the second we found out we were like, ‘Okay, let’s talk about names.’ We already have one in mind, but we’ll see if it sticks as the months go on,” she shared.

As she nears her due date, which is later this year around the holidays, Lindsay said she’s “been very lucky and blessed” with a “fairly easy” pregnancy.

“I’ve had no morning sickness, no nausea — if anything, it’s been the opposite because my pregnancy hunger is insatiable. But it’s been a really, really easy,” she gushed. “I’m just excited to actually be able to talk about it publicly now and share in the celebration with our friends. I’m a very ‘scream from the rooftops’ kind of girl. I’m just ready to let it all out now.”

Also speaking to PEOPLE, Lindsay admitted that while her boyfriend, who she began dating in January, is “so excited” to be a dad, he’s not thrilled with the idea of being in the public eye and requested she keep him a secret.“He’s a private person, mostly because of his high-powered job,” Lindsay shared of her doctor boyfriend, who has a job in biotech investing. “Obviously, I’m a very public [person] and share pretty much every aspect of my life with the world, so I know it’s weird. But I need to respect his privacy here.”

That said, she did gush over the unidentified man, saying he’s “loving,” “sweet and nurturing and understanding.”

“He’s highly emotionally intelligent. He’s probably one of the smartest guys I’ve ever met, and really handsome, of course,” she went on. “I finally feel like I met my match with him. And yes, it is a lot of pressure on a new relationship, but I think because he’s the right man because we are so bonded and connected and communicate very effectively with each other that it hasn’t felt like work.”

“It just all feels so right. I’m just so lucky that the universe put us back in orbit of each other,” she added.
