Lisa Vanderpump appeared on the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast and opened up about leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, her brother’s death, and “puppygate.”

On the June 18th episode of NSBNF, Lisa Vanderpump spilled all the British tea on her time on RHOBH, and her decision to not return.

“One of the reasons I left housewives, and Andy’s been very honest with this, ‘I shouldn’t be doing the show this year’,” Lisa told podcast host, Amanda Hirsch.

“I was in a very depressed state of mind. My brother had just committed suicide — my only sibling. I was very honest about that.”

Lisa On PuppyGate

In case you missed it, Lisa’s final season on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills centered around “puppygate.”

Dorit Kemsley rehomed the pup she adopted from Vanderpump Dogs, which hit the media circuit quicker than Lucy Lucy Apple Juicy left the Kemsley residence.

Of course, Dorit wasn’t pleased with the narrative that she gave a dog away. Adversely, LVP wasn’t thrilled with the idea that one of her Vanderpump Dogs wasn’t properly matched and vetted for placement in the Kemsley household.

While the cast questioned Lisa’s involvement with the story leaking, LVP was preoccupied with the loss of her brother (of which the cast wasn’t the most sensitive to.)

Lisa decided not only to cease filming, but to not show up to the season 9 reunion.

“I took antidepressants for three months to get over that hump.”

In hindsight, Lisa revealed that both she and Andy Cohen wished she opted to take the season off.

LVP worked overtime to prove her innocence. Unfortunately, “Goodbye Kyle” ushered the beginning of the end for Lisa as a diamond holder.

“You’re not calling me liar and getting away with it.”

Lisa On Leaving RHOBH

Lisa Vanderpump went on to say that she was “ready to be done” and knew that skipping the reunion would solidify her decision to not return to the franchise.

“The point of a reunion is with the intention of reuniting, and I was done.”

“If I draw a line in the sand, I’m not going to waver.”

For all the LVP stans, don’t feel too sorry for Lisa! Not only is she involved in Vanderpump Rules, she’s also an executive producer on The Valley, and currently promoting her new show with Gordon Ramsey, Food Stars.

“I’ve benefited from [RHOBH], I’ve used it as a platform, I did many things on that show that I would never have had the opportunity to do. So, I can’t say it was toxic.”

However, don’t expect any of her former costars to congratulate her successes anytime soon. Lisa revealed that she only has a relationship with Garcelle Beauvais.

Fun fact, LVP hired Garcelle’s son Oliver after Garcelle approached her at a charity event for Haiti. Oliver is now the face of Vanderpump A Paris in Vegas.
