While getting candid about dating in her 50s, the Real Housewives of New York City alum, 59, recalled back to when she was a teenager and revealed that she lost her virginity while attending the high school dance.

Describing herself as a "late bloomer," de Lesseps revealed to Bustle that she "didn't feel confident" in much of her teens and never really had a "boyfriend or have sex until I was 18 years old." After years of being "taller than all the boys," she said she didn't lose her virginity until her senior prom.

"I calculated it. We had sex in the car, which is so prom," she shared. "Jim was older than me but he was very handsome and sweet. I thought he was the perfect guy to lose my virginity to because he was good-natured. So that was a great experience, actually. Then it just went on from there: the love affair with boys."

Nowadays, the Bravolebrity said she dates "like a man" and knows exactly what she wants when it comes to romance. De Lesseps added that she was able to secure her first marriage to her ex-husband Count Alexandre de Lesseps through her sense of confidence.

"It had a lot to do with confidence. If you don’t think you’re great, nobody is going to think you’re great," she said.

De Lesseps and Alexandre were married for 16 years before calling it quits in 2009. She and her second husband, Tom D’Agostino married on Dec. 31, 2016, in a lavish, three-day celebration in Palm Beach, Florida but filed for divorce in August 2017.

"I’m living my best cougar life right now," the reality star told Bustle of dating. "The 30-somethings and 40-somethings are into my stuff. The 50-somethings are like, “Oh, s---, I’m 50. I have to date a 20-year-old.' And the 60-year-olds have a problem in the, as Ramona [Singer] would call it, “lower level.”
