Carolina Panthers legend Luke Kuechly had high praise for Chuba Hubbard following the team’s thrilling victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Speaking on the Up and Adams Show with Kay Adams, Kuechly didn’t hold back when discussing Hubbard’s dedication and game-changing impact.
From Backup to Breakout Star
Kuechly highlighted Hubbard’s journey from a backup to a standout performer. “He came in, and we learned from Christian [McCaffrey]. He sat behind Christian, and then last year, you know, I don’t know if Chuba’s our guy,” Kuechly said. Despite the team signing Miles Sanders in the offseason, Hubbard remained focused. That focus paid off as Hubbard delivered his first 1,000-yard season this year, proving himself as an essential part of the Panthers’ offense.
The Game-Winning Play
Kuechly was particularly impressed by Hubbard’s game-winning touchdown against the Cardinals. “There were two unblocked defenders off the edge, and he ran through both of them and scored the touchdown to win the game. It’s just so fitting that Chuba’s the guy that goes and does that,” Kuechly remarked. The play wasn’t just pivotal for the game but emblematic of Hubbard’s grit and determination.
A Model Teammate
Kuechly didn’t just praise Hubbard’s performance on the field; he emphasized his character off it. “I wish we had 53 Chuba’s. If we had 53 of those guys, we’d be a really good football team,” Kuechly said. His statement underscores Hubbard’s work ethic and positive attitude, traits any team would value.
