Reality star and fitness coach Mackenzie Taylor Douthit is in the final stretch of what she calls the “hardest thing I’ve ever experienced” — and she’s not holding anything back.
In a heartfelt update shared to Facebook, Mackenzie gave fans a candid glimpse into the physical and emotional toll of carrying twins, now almost four pounds each. “Half way through May, and I feel like I’ve been stuck here a year,” she wrote. The Teen Mom alum, known for her openness, detailed just how challenging this pregnancy has been compared to her past ones — and why this last month feels particularly intense.
Dressed in the only outfit she could manage, a tight orange bodycon dress, Mackenzie revealed that her belly has grown so much she can no longer wear shirts comfortably. “The belly is in wayyyyy too much pain for a shirt to go over it,” she explained, adding that it has to be exposed at all times — something she does with a mix of humor and vulnerability. But despite the discomfort, she found a bright spot in her day: getting to visit some of her athletes, which she says “always warms my heart.”
But the post quickly shifted to the harsher realities of her current stage of pregnancy. Mackenzie explained that she’s carrying two babies in separate sacks, with their own placentas and extra fluid — making her size even larger than when she carried her previous 10-pound baby. “I sleep sitting up in a chair,” she shared, adding that she endures consistent, intense contractions every night from 2:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., leaving her both physically and emotionally exhausted. “Ones that I’m mentally very drained from. Ones that have me screaming for dear life.”
Her honesty is both raw and relatable to many mothers who have experienced complicated or painful pregnancies. “This last month is the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced,” she admitted — a powerful statement coming from someone who has lived much of her life in the public eye, often sharing her struggles and triumphs with her fans.
Still, in true Mackenzie fashion, she ended the post with gratitude: “But thank you God I’m healthy and so are the babies.”
Fans flooded the post with support and encouragement, praising her for being strong and transparent during such a vulnerable time. The post is a reminder of how tough pregnancy can be, especially with multiples, and it’s clear Mackenzie is counting down the days until she meets her twins.
As she prepares for one of the biggest moments of her life, Mackenzie continues to show what strength, faith, and love look like — even through exhaustion and pain. And while she may be physically drained, her resilience is stronger than ever.
