Harry Moulding, a 24-year-old magician from Blackpool, has officially won Season 18 of Britain’s Got Talent with a jaw-dropping mentalism act that left judges and audiences stunned. The grand finale, held on May 31, featured 10 finalists, but Harry stood out by accurately predicting playing cards chosen by three of the four judges—Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli—and the word randomly picked by Simon Cowell.
What truly shocked viewers was Harry’s bold claim that he had predicted the exact results a day in advance. In a pre-recorded skydiving video inspired by Mission: Impossible, he revealed each judge's card choices—3 of clubs (Bruno), 4 of hearts (Alesha), and 7 of diamonds (Amanda)—all of which matched perfectly. On stage, he ended his act by revealing Simon Cowell’s chosen word “Dream” in a stunning cloud-of-smoke finale.
After his performance, Harry expressed gratitude, calling the show “the most incredible journey.” The judges praised his talent and stage presence, with Bruno saying Harry’s magic was outstanding, while Alesha dubbed him the "Tom Cruise of magic."
Amanda Holden called him “super talented,” and Simon Cowell said Harry embodied the exact kind of undiscovered talent the show aims to spotlight.
Upon being announced the winner by hosts Ant and Dec, Harry dropped to his knees in disbelief and thanked the audience for their support. “This is the most amazing journey I’ve ever been on,” he said emotionally.
Despite the high praise, some YouTube viewers criticized the result, saying Harry’s tricks were too simple or predictable. Still, his years of performing at weddings, private events, and large-scale shows across the UK clearly paid off. He began practicing magic at age 11 and has won numerous competitions throughout his youth.
The runner-up title went to dance crew The Blackouts, while third place was awarded to 8-year-old Indian dancer Binita Chetry.
The Britain’s Got Talent champion wins £250,000 and a coveted spot at the Royal Variety Performance. The show, created by Simon Cowell, has aired since 2007 and continues to welcome talents of all ages and backgrounds. Last year’s winner, receptionist Sydnie Christmas, won hearts with her vocal talents.
