Magician silences Simon Cowell in a surprising act on ITV's Britain's Got Talent

Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell was left completely stunned as he was taped up by a contestant

Britain's Got Talent's Simon Cowell experienced a shocking moment during the auditions when one daring contestant sealed his lips with tape as part of her mystifying performance.

In an upcoming episode set to be broadcast on Saturday (5th April), the 64-year-old music industry icon became an unwitting participant in a magician's captivating act.

A teaser released ahead of the show portrays Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon, and Simon Cowell taken aback as the illusionist Alexandra steps onto the stage, mouth sealed with tape.

The judges' curiosity was piqued, and when Alesha queried, "Hello, how are you? Do you speak?" the audience erupted into laughter as Alexandra gestured to her muted state. In good spirits, Alesha continued, "Alright, let's do it."

Without hesitation, Alexandra then courageously approached the judges' desk where she proceeded to apply tape over Simon's mouth, eliciting a wave of cheers and astonishment from all present, reports the Express.

This thrilling display promises to leave viewers eagerly anticipating Saturday night, where the skilled magician will depend on both the audience and Simon to select choices that culminate in her grand reveal.

Meanwhile, former Britain's Got Talent judge and comic David Walliams reportedly took a jab at Simon during his appearance at Advertising Week Europe 2025, as he shared the stage with fellow comedian Matt Lucas.

While speaking at a recent event, David couldn't resist making a light-hearted jab about his success as Best TV Judge at the National Television Awards, a title he secured four times consecutively, a feat Simon has yet to achieve.Simon Cowell

Melanie remarked: "David Walliams, you were a judge on Britain's Got Talent for a decade and won best judge at the national TV Awards four times."

David then humorously retorted: "Simon Cowell never won once. That's all he does is judging. It was a tiny part of my career. For him, it was the focus and he still couldn't win it."

When Melanie probed further, asking, "He wasn't happy with you was he?" David confirmed "no" but also acknowledged "it was a fun show to do."
